The Maximus Academy

CrossFit Maximus’ foundations program to start you on the path to elite fitness.

CrossFit creates an athlete in everybody.  In the Academy, we will be teaching you how to build a strong fitness foundation which will prepare you both mentally and physically for a life long career in The Academy, Bootcamp classes or our CrossFit classes.  New CrossFit members will want to begin with the Academy’s 4 week program.  This is where you will work with a coach to build your general fitness base and gain familiarity with our movements.  Your Academy Coach will tailor workouts specifically for your current fitness level (Beginner to Elite) and progress you at the proper pace for you.  Following your initial 16 sessions you may then choose to continue in The Academy or progress into our Bootcamp or CrossFit group classes.

The emphasis of The Academy is on skill development and exposure to our basic movements. We are going to be hammering technique—both to ensure your safety—and success at the next level.  We will introduce you to technique and mechanics first, then intensity.  We will be showing you movements that begin with the relatively non technical and progressively more technical.  In each of the 16 classes you will learn movements that will build on one another.

Once the foundations are introduced, the Academy will continually progress to expose you to our movement curriculum.  Movement techniques will be drilled as well as a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our CrossFit classes.

The difficulty of these workouts is ultimately in your hands. The degree that you push yourself will determine how much success you achieve.  Shifts in body composition are one of the most motivating ways to measure success. We highly encourage you to take “Before” pictures at the beginning of The Academy.
