Who we are
CrossFit Maximus is a 15,000+ sq/ft functional training facility, located on Palumbo Drive, conveniently located halfway between New Circle Road and Man O’ War Boulevard in Lexington, KY. We are one of the largest and most equipped CrossFit facilities in the country. Nowhere else in town will you get the level of CrossFit training, knowledge, and experience than you will get at CrossFit Maximus. We are fully equipped with a staff of CrossFit certified coaches, a nutritional counselor, childcare services, full men’s and women’s locker rooms, and a multi-use studio offering group fitness classes, various seminars, and much more. We offer individual coaching services, and specialty classes to further educate and challenge yourself in your fitness goals. We also offer MassageFit, our massage therapy service to help you relax, recover and rejuvenate, and ChiroFit our Chiropractic care clinic, for your chiropractic and mobility needs.
What we do
What we do at CrossFit Maximus is different that what you are used to from any other conventional “gym.” We do not offer the multitude of machines and stationary equipment that you will find in most gyms. You will not see any mirrors, televisions, or a social scene that will distract you from your training. What you will find is a dedicated staff of coaches and fitness consultants that will give you the necessary programming and encouragement for your success. Our classes are programmed for you on a daily basis, and our classes average about 45 minutes in length, so you can be in and out in about an hour. Our workouts don’t repeat themselves, so you will never get bored with your training, and your body is constantly guessing. We like to call ourselves a “school of fitness”, because our coaches are with you during every class, teaching you and guiding you, not just counting reps. With our help, you will not only get in the best shape of your life, you will gain a knowledge of fitness that you will not find anywhere else.
You are the primary machine during your classes, performing functional movements that your body was designed to perform. Since CrossFit is part gymnastics, you will perform universally scalable, body weight exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, box jumps, and dips. We also use equipment that you won’t find in other gyms, equipment such as kettle bells, tires for flipping and pulling, rings, prowler sleds, climbing ropes, medicine balls, sledgehammers, and much more. We give you the tools and the education to make the most out of your fitness experience, all you have to do is provide the dedication, and the commitment. Our fitness programming aims to improve your capacity in ten recognized fitness domains; cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. The result is comprehensive physical fitness and restored vitality.
