What is KidFit Maximus?
KidFit Maximus is a fitness, strength and conditioning program designed for children, a specific population of individuals with explicit developmental needs. Our fitness program, while being general and comprehensive, is scalable to each child and their particular needs. The goal of KidFit Maximus is to ensure that all children, while participating in our program, have the opportunity to experience what healthy living is all about while running, jumping, throwing, pushing, pulling, and playing safely and successfully.
Weekly workouts (Tuesdays & Thursdays) are instructed by our KidFit coaches, Angela Conner and Veronica Tisdale, who are both certified CrossFit Level One instructors. Their goal for KidFit is to use physical fitness to teach your child that they can be successful and believe in themselves in any aspect of life.
Our program is comprehensive and includes the following:
- Weekly Workouts
- “Word of the Week”
- CrossFit Kids certified workouts and games
- Nutrition Lessons
- Focus/Skill of the Week
Throughout each session, we will incorporate gymnastics, metabolic conditioning, and weight lifting while touching on the following 10 physical fitness skills:
Stamina – Can you get enough energy to your muscles?
Strength – How much can you lift?
Flexibility – Can you touch your toes?
Power – How much work can you do in the least time?
Speed – How fast can you go?
Coordination – Can you pat your head and rub your stomach?
Accuracy – Can you kick a soccer ball into the net?
Agility – How quickly can you change direction?
Balance – Can you stand on one foot? With your eyes shut?
Each 45 minute class will include:
- Warm-up Game or Activity
- Focus/Skill Work-based on CF Kids movements
- Workout of the Day (WOD) – based on CF Kids movement
- Game or fun activity
Age Groups:
Big Skulls: For Elementary school children, k-5th grade, ages 5-11 and meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15 pm – 5:00 pm. Each workout is scaled based on age and ability level and each class will be capped at 20 children to ensure that each child gets the best coaching possible.
Tiny Skulls: is for pre-school children, ages 3-5 and will be offered Tuesday and Thursday from 10:45am-11:30am. Each workout is scaled based on age and ability level and each class will be capped at 10 children to ensure that each child gets the best coaching possible.
