Nathan Spitz – Coach, LaxFit
Nathan has been involved in sports his whole life. As a child he played soccer, baseball, and basketball. He narrowed it down to soccer when he entered High School where he was introduced to strength and conditioning through the soccer program. After High School, Nathan kept involved with fitness by taking up snowboarding and rock climbing. He came back to strength and conditioning when he began attending the University of Kentucky where he was the President and played soccer for the UK Men’s Club Soccer Team.
After a couple of years of working out without a clear purpose he stumbled across CrossFit. At CrossFit Nathan found the type of training that he had been looking for. He was getting stronger and was able to play at a higher intensity for longer periods of time in his soccer games.
In December of 2010 Nathan was certified as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Since then he has been actively coaching the athletes of CrossFit Maximus and researching various Strength and Conditioning programs.
Nathan loves the competitive nature of CrossFit as well as the camaraderie between athletes. He loves pushing past his mental and physical limits and watching others meet their daily successes and failures in the gym. Making people stronger, happier, and aware of their true potential is a joy he experiences every day at work.
