Maximus earns a spot at the 2012 Central East Regionals

With the conclusion of the Open Qualifier this past weekend, CrossFit Maximus would like  to commend all those who competed in the 5 week event.  We would also like to thank all of the coaches and supporters who donated their time every Saturday to help make the events run as smoothly as possible.  Great job everyone!

For those of you that don’t know, CrossFit Maximus had two teams for the qualifier, Team CrossFit Maximus, who is made up of veterans from the 2011 CrossFit Games run, as well as some new faces, and Team Gluteus Maximus that was made up of up and coming CrossFit competitors.  Maximus as a whole finished incredibly strong for a box that has only been in existence for less than 2 years, with Team CrossFit Maximus placing 3rd out of 113 teams in the Central East region (57th out of 1770 teams worldwide!), and Team Gluteus Maximus placing 38th in the region (625th worldwide).  This is quite an accomplishment, as Maximus nearly sent two teams to the regionals.

Saturday, June 2, 2012, CrossFit Maximus will be hosting the “Bluegrass Beatdown”, part of the Garage Games Series, brought to you by Again Faster Equipment, Progenex and LIFE as Rx.  The Garage Games

Tell your friends, share this event, and get the word out to all those in the region who are interested in participating in the ultimate challenge for the fittest person or team. Everyone is encouraged to attend and compete, or to come and be a spectator.  This event is not limited for those at CrossFit Maximus, or the CrossFit community, everyone in the fitness community is welcome to test their fitness and compete!  For any questions, please contact us at CrossFit Maximus at staff@crossfitmaximus.com.

Details:

  • Event Date: Saturday June 2, 2012
  • Competitor check in time: 7:30 am
  • First heat starts at 9:00 am sharp.

Event Fees:

  • Individual Competitor: $75 – will raise to $100 after 5/16/2012
  • Team (2 men/2 women): $150 – will raise $200 after 5/16/2012

Divisions:

  • Rx – The workout done with prescribed weights and standards
  • Scaled – The workout done with scaling on weight/movements
  • Masters – Ages 45 and above
  • Masters scaled – Ages 45 and above, scaling on weights/movements

1. Deadlift from floor to knee height, return bar to floor.

2. Deadlift from floor to hip height, return bar to the knee height.

3. High Pull from knee height to full extension, return bar to the floor.

4. Power Clean
