  1. Yikes!!! Okay, so I could see doing this with 135lbs for the C&J’s, but I’m guessing you want to use the same bar for the snatches…and 135lbs seems like a lot for those…so….what are we looking at here???

  2. Choice of shoes may be critical here… vans (heavy, better lifting) or chucks (light weight, less support) Or I guess I could run in my lifting shoes. I think this will be fun :-P

  3. Note the 2d set of C and J’s follow directly after the 1st set of snatches. No running break to “rest”. Pain in the a…

Maybe I’ll put on lifting shoes after the first run, wear them through 15 snatches, and 15 C and J’s, and shed them for the last run.

  4. Little known fact about Paul Dz…he was once a professional skateboarder! It’s true, I’ve seen him practicing rail grinds and ollies out behind the arena on Sunday afternoons.

  5. Paul I also noticed that the second set of C&J’s come on the tail end of those first snatches! That second set is going to be brutal! Will you be in tonight, or are you in the ville?

  6. I will be in, after late, executive-like lunch with Fielding in Winchester
    :-o

Sad face for the embarrassment of having skateboarding shoes. And I have two (2) pair.

  7. Didn’t do this one RX, 95lbs (should have done 115lb) in 19:10. Probably did the slowest mile tonight, lucky I didn’t get hypothermia since I was out there for so long.

  8. 19:19 Rx in the Vibrams.

For those on the fence, I recommend them. Very complimentary to POSE IMO. Phil Gaull’s (sp?) at Woodhill and New Circle Road has them. Try them on first because a good fit is important and they are in floofy European sizes, hard to order on the internet.

And, no, I did not get paid for that commercial.

    Ling Rocks.

  9. Mr. Guy/ Freeman

Check out the Louie Simmons video today on the wide stance squat (mainsite). Priceless.

  10. Senior, I love your shoes very much! Hope they have pink ones available. :-P Do you feel comfortable in them, especially when you run outside?

I sucked once again. Didn’t use the Rx’d weights and I guess my time was the slowest of the day. Still a long way to go! :-(

  11. 1. Pink does not fit the ninja image I am cultivating. I would be more comfortable (and faster) in a power wheelchair riding around the gym, but yes, they were fine.

    2. Scarecrow the arms up which will keep the bar closer to your body. Bar seemed to be floating out a little during the pull.

    3. Keep your knees out. You were collapsing a little on your set up (deadlifting before the pull).

    4. Be patient. Squeeze the bar into the pocket ( where your pockets in your pants are) and then “pop” it up.

    5. Google “Kono” and “weightlifting” on youtube. He is the best American weightlifter (Japanese 1st generation), won a couple of gold medals in the Olympics, and has been giving neat lectures/ talks on Oly lifting recently. I have a signed copy of his book :-P

  12. Paul, that was hilarious, had me laughing out loud by myself. I like the idea of you in a power wheelchair roaming around the gym, maybe we can get Kevin a power rower.

18:10 with 135 on C&J, 115 snatches. My mile was right up there with you Greg, I needed Paul’s power wheelchair for it.

  13. I went to the wall with this one and stuck to full prescribed. I’m not sure that I’ve ever even attempted a 135lbs snatch, but I got it done. It took me 26:00, and quite a few failed attempts…but I got it done.
